What are your big goals for 2023?
Depending on your mindset, that question fills you with excitement, dread, or a mixture of both.
If we’ve learned anything from the past few years, it’s that our plans need to be flexible and adaptable to the rapidly changing world we live in.
So, how can we possibly set big goals and expect to achieve them when so much is outside of our control?
The thought of scaling a mountain that’s constantly shifting and moving under our feet seems impossible.
But, with the right reframe, scaling that mountain becomes a pleasant walk in the park.
Instead of setting a huge goal and figuring out how to get yourself there…
…ask yourself who you need to become to get there.
The reality is, to achieve your big goals, you need to grow as a person, professional, and human being.
Basically, if you want to grow your business, you need to grow yourself.
Fortunately, that is something you have complete control over.
Most people, unfortunately, have a fixed mindset. They think, “That’s not something I can do.” “I’m not good at that.” “I don’t have time to invest in myself.”
So, their growth stagnates, and they never achieve the lofty goals they aspire to.
They only look at the destination, not at the steps they’d take along the path.
Real, lasting growth is not done in spurts. It’s made incrementally, every day.
It’s made by building better habits, and gets easier over time.
And, those habits – compounded over time – result in exponential growth and success.
That’s why the 1 thing you can do to ensure your 2023 is your best year ever is to adopt a Growth Mindset.
The first step is to catch yourself when you tell yourself you can’t do something or that you’re not good enough.
When you catch yourself thinking that, ask how you can gain the needed skills to make that goal a reality.
Then, go invest in getting those skills.
The best investment you can make – EVER – in life is in yourself.
This is even more true when the economy is unstable and probably headed for a recession.
The game is going to be harder for a while.
How are you going to up your game and rise to the challenge?
How much is that worth to you?
What do you risk by NOT investing in your success?
If you have a growth mindset, the decision is easy…
Grow and succeed…
…or…
…Stay the same and fail.
The choice is yours.
If you have a growth mindset and want to take your business to the next level, look for a big announcement later this month.
I’m launching a new, collaborative program in January.
